Mar. 14, Sun. – Lower Lena Lake (M) 6.4 mi. rt. Gain, 1300’ (USGS The Brothers, Mount Washington; Green Trails The Brothers) Pleasant hike on moderately graded trail through lush forest with lots of old growth trees. Our destination is a beautiful sub-alpine lake formed by a massive rock slide 5000 years ago. Giant moss-covered boulders provide interesting mid-trip scenery where Lena Creek “mysteriously” vanishes before getting to the bridge that crosses it. Be ready for rain. Northwest Forest Pass required. Contact leader: Nancy Lloyd. 360-628-4237 or E-mail (preferred): nancylloy@yahoo.com
