Day Hike - Lower Big Quilcene

The trail along the river should be beautiful this time of year. We hope to see some wildflowers along the way. We will go as long as we're having fun, but the goal is to make it to Camp Jolly at 5 miles in (10 miles round trip) and about 1000 feet of elevation gain.

  • Easy/Moderate
  • Easy
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,000 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 to 2 miles pre hour

Plan to leave Olympia around 7:00 a.m.  Specifics will be sent to registered participants a few days prior to the hike.

Be prepared for all types of weather; bring the Ten Essentials, and avoid wearing cotton.  The trail could be wet/muddy.  Pack plenty of water, snacks, and lunch.  A stop in Hoodsport for ice cream or a snack is possible depending on the wishes of the group.
