Day Hike - Lost Valley Loop

A good in forest and open area hike.

  • Pace: slow to moderate pace (as fast as I can go)

We will meet and the WASH-DOT Park-N-Ride near the intersection of Highway 512 and I - 5, at 8:00 AM to car pool and drive to the trailhead south-west of Olympia. Directions to ParkNride: at west end of Hwy 512 turn left onto South Tacoma Way, drive approx. 1/4 mile then turn left between the McDonalds and Taco time. Drive straight back to the fence.

This will be an all- (or mostly all) day trip, so please don't plan any urgent activities afterwards....

 

Trail Information: The trail is well trod, and easy to follow, with moderate grades along the way. Starting out in-forest, then we will traverse some open (non-forested) areas.We will switch trails as we go along, so be sure to have a Capitol Forest brochure/map with you to help with navigation.
