  • Mileage: 8.3 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,880 ft
  • Pace: 2.0 mph
  • This is an affinity group hike for those in their 20s and 30s. Please only register if you are in your 20's-30's and looking to meet fellow young adults who enjoy hiking.

This is a hike that takes place in Bellingham at Blanchard State Forest. This is a really nice park that consists of a lot of lakes and viewpoints. This route will take us to two of the most popular lakes. The route will include a small detour to North Butte which should give us a small view of Puget Sound*.

The route will be a big loop around the southeastern portion of the forest. This is not a route I've taken before even though I've been to this general part of the park before. The trails tend to be well maintained and include signage (we'll still come prepared with navigation equipment just in case).

Also, prior to signing up for this hike, please take into account the following:

  • We'll be going at what I consider a casual pace (please note the pace provided above).
  • Please be prepared for inclement weather seeing as this is a Spring hike.

* Our route will not include Oyster Dome, sorry! Oyster Dome will likely be planned as a separate activity.

Meet at 10 AM at a Park and Ride (provided in the hello hiker e-mail after registration closes).

  • Please arrive on time and account for traffic.
  • (optional) We'll carpool from the meeting location to the trailhead.
