Day Hike - Lake Wilderness Park

Have a wilderness experience close to home, hiking two historic railroad grades with four tunnels and two bridges, and through a botanical garden in a beautiful park to a picnic table along a lake with ducks and geese and indoor restrooms nearby.

Meet at 10:00 AM at the Maple Valley McDonald's Restaurant,  23225 Maple Valley Highway, Maple Valley,  reached from the north by driving east from Renton on SR 169 or from the south by driving east on SR 18, exiting at SE 231st St, turning  right at the end of the exit, right at the traffic light and then right into McDonald's.

From McDonald's Restaurant we will caravan the short distance to the trailhead parking lot, by heading north on SR 169 (Maple Valley Highway) and turning right into a gravel parking lot after driving under the SR 18 overpass.
