Day Hike - Lake Wilderness Park

Hike on two historic railroad grades through four tunnels, across two bridges and through a botanical garden on a forested route to beautiful Lake Wilderness Park, where we have lunch at a sheltered picnic table by the lake, watching ducks and geese go by.

Meet at 10:30 AM at the Maple Valley McDonald's Restaurant at 23225 Maple Valley Highway (SR 169), reached by driving east on SR 18 and turning right at the SE 231st St exit and right again on the Maple Valley Highway (SR 169), where McDonald's is on your  right. 

From McDonald's we will caravan a short distance to the trailhead parking lot on SR 169 near 236th Ave SE.  No parking pass is required.  Restrooms are located at the meeting spot (McDonald's) and at the lunch spot (Lake Wilderness Park), but not at the trailhead or elsewhere on the hiking route.
