Hiking Kids Series 004 This hike is primarily for kids and their families but if there is space left I'll open this hike for other hikers too, usually one day before the hike. This is a very nice and popular hike with waterfalls, lake and mountain views. The pace will be moderate (school age kids) with short breaks as necessary. It is about 8 miles round trip over 2,000 feet elevation gain. The most of relaxing time we'll spend at the lake to enjoy wonderful views, sunshine, lunch, chat etc. I traditionally play a game of chess with my son at the top so plan to spend up to 1.5 hours there before heading back. Please make sure that you sign up your child(ren) too for accurate counts. Call member services at (206) 521-6001 if you need help with sign up. Read more about this hike: http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/lake-serene Northwest Forest Pass is required to park a car at the trailhead.
