9AM at Mt. Index Cafe at Jct of US2 and North Fork Skykomish road.
This hike is strictly limited to participants in the Basic Wilderness Travel (BWT) course. Please do not sign up for this trip if you are not a participant in the course. The Lake Dorothy trail is wonderful. Features: the largest lake in the Alpine Lakes wilderness (with islands and peninsula's), old growth forest, spring wildflowers, waterfalls on Miller River and Camp Robber Creek, a moderate climb and then a mostly level trail along the lake shore, views of Big Snow Mountain, and low elevation (3000 ft.) for early snow melt.
