Lost Creek Ridge and Lake Byrne in the Glacier Peak Wilderness. We'll most likely establish a base camp at Sun-up Lake, approximately 6 miles and 4200 feet from the trailhead, which is on FS Road 49 off the Mountain Loop Hiway. Day 2 will be an exploratory day hike of about 12 miles round trip from Sun-up Lake to Lake Byrne, which is nestled at the base of Glacier Peak. Of particular interest along Lost Creek Ridge are recent (July25th) sightings of a few wolves. As always on my trips we will use Bear canisters to protect the bears, and us! Leader permission required please. Please note there is NO fee for this trip.
