Day Hike - Missing Route/Place

20 mile hike up to and along the PCT up to aptly-named Kodak peak, with views of Glacier peak and the surrounding scenery. Note: the final 1/3 mile to Kodak Peak is an unmaintained (rocky in places) bootpath and not a maintained trail per se.

This trip has an open roster but is very strenuous and is not an appropriate trip for your first hike or if you are allergic to the PCT. Being 20 miles, we'll need to maintain a fairly brisk hiking pace. The 100 classic hikes Washington book lists a loop through Meander Meadows but that trail has deep mud, flies, and lots of wet brush so we'll take the extra 2 miles and go back the way we came instead.
Also, this trip avoids the current Little Wenatchee fire closure at http://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprd3814904.pdf

Intended Itinerary: 4500' gain, 19.8 miles.

  1. Trail 1532 west to the PCT. Gain 2500 feet over 5.5 miles, then, lose 200 feet over the next mile.
  2. Trail 2000 north to Dishpan Gap, gain 600 feet and lose 300 over 1.4 miles.
  3. Trail 2000 northeast to the Wenatchee Ridge via sauk pass, gain 200 feet and lose 100 feet over 1.6 miles.
  4. Bootpath to Kodak peak, gain 400 feet over 0.4 mile.
  5. Return the way we came.
