7:00 PM at Kerry Park, Seattle
Kerry Park for the full moon over Seattle also on 04 June 12. Moonrise is at 2136 so we'll see it about an hour later. Recommend arriving around 1900 if folks want a spot at the rail. It fills fast with LOTS of people!! I'll arrive between 18-1900 and stay until roughly 2400. After that the moon will be too high in the sky. Bring nourishment and warm clothing; it can get quite chilly when the wind is blowing off the Sound, and it generally is!. Same thing for group size; we'll all be standing on the cement at the edge of the park. Can't do more than skin your knee if you trying running and fall down, but then, there are so many people it's hard to sometimes find the cement. A tripod and cable release are fundamental for the long exposures needed for the moon work. Also helpful will be a small light to allow reading the camera settings. I'll give a small talk about getting the shots before it all happens but those two pieces of gear will allow for the shots. Folks are welcome to contact me directly. However, we are moving to our new home the week of 21 May and I don't know when we will have internet back up after the 25th. I should be able to access my gmail account intermittently, but no promises. Cell will be available but right now we have just 1 bar service at the new house. If I don't answer it is likely that I didn't get the call but the phone generally records them as being missed and I do return calls. dcjohan@bm.net - down likely after 25 May dcjohanson@gmail.com - always up 206.789.1184 - Seatle 206.909.4748 - cell 360.297.4460 - Eglon (new home)
