Kamikaze (Teneriffe) Falls

Day Hike - Kamikaze (Teneriffe) Falls

Joint the Tacoma Hiking and Backpacking Committee to see some wonder falls! The hike will actually start at the Little Si Trailhead and traverse Mt. Si until we get to the falls. We should go through beautiful PNW forests before we get to these spectacular falls!

For those in the South Sound interested in carpooling, I will meet them at 6:30am in the South Federal Way P&R (901 S 348th St., Federal Way, WA, 98003). For others we can meet at East North Bend Park and Ride at 7:20am (234 E North Bend Way, North Bend, WA 98045). Goal is to meet and consolidate into cars so that we do not have many cars to park in the Little Si parking lot which can be busy on weekends.  Little Si is only a few minutes drive away but I would like to be at that parking lot around 7:30am so we get spots.

This is a new hike for me and an attempt to make hiking on Mount Si a little bit more interesting and less crowded.  We will not be going to the top of Mount Si so will avoid the weekend crowds that primarily just go there.  The goal is to do a hike that is long enough (10 miles) and has enough elevation (2000 or so) to start preparing us for the higher/longer hikes in Snoqualamie pass that are so great but still covered with snow (like going to Snow and Gem Lakes or going up to see Kendall Katwalk).

I will still need to scout the exact route but I plan to start at Little Si trailhead, go onto Mount Si, and the traverse Si to get to Teneriffe Falls about 5 miles later.  The falls should still be amazing due to ongoing spring snow melt-out.  Then we will go back using different trails at times since there are so many to choose from.  To all who has ever hiked with me, you know that I will scout it out pretty well; my main goal is to find a hike all will enjoy!
