This park is on the shore of Lake Washington, just north of the Kirkland town center. Address: 2201 Market St. Kirkland. Visit http://www.ci.kirkland.wa.us/depart/parks/Online_Parks_Guide.htm for more info and maps. From the Kirkland Parks Dept. website: Juanita Bay Park features a wide paved path with an adjoining boardwalk that hugs the shore and takes visitors through a five different habitats including wet meadow, marsh, and wooded wetland. The path is ideal for strolling, while the boardwalk provides a place to meander or sit. Bring your binoculars, if you have them, to look for waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds. Be on the lookout for osprey and the osprey nesting platform, turtles, beavers, and other small mammals. We'll eat lunch in the picnic area, weather permitting.
