For those just joining us for this section, meet at the Painted Hills Overlook around 9:30am.
For those already on the trip in the previous segment, we'll depart Big Pines RV Park at 7am.

DAY 6
We will leave camp by 7am and drive to the Painted Hills Overlook and spend an hour or so taking photos; we will most likely hike along the Painted Hills Overlook, Painted Cove Trail and the Red Star Knoll Trail (all short, easy trails) to take the photos.
Will stop for lunch at Mitchell’s Stage Stop.
After lunch, drive to John Day Fossil Beds National Monument for a photography hike at Blue Basin Overlook Trail (we may only do part of the trail, depending on how hot it is in the afternoon)
After our hike, we'll drive to Lands Inn and set up camp
Dinner on your own.
DAY 7
We'll leave camp by 7am and drive to Maryhill State Park and set up camp.
Explore area on your own (Maryhill Stonehenge and Deschutes River Canyon Trail are two ideas).

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Campsites fill up quickly, so you need to book your site ASAP.
Lands Inn camping reservation - need to call Carol on January 2nd at 541-934-2333 (before 8pm) to make reservation!
