Island Lake hike:1940' 10.5 miles. This hike passes four other lakes enroute to Island Lake, in the heart of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. The uniform grade of the trail makes this a very pleasant hike, with many scenic views enroute to the destination. GT206S, Bandera or GT207S, Snoqualmie Pass Gateway, WA Book: Hiking Washington, c1993, pp141-2 Northwest Forest Pass or NPS Senior Pass is required to park at the trailhead. No hiking permit is required.
