Explore a large King County Park in the morning, with opportunities for abundant wildlife sightings and lunch after the hike in a picnic shelter. In the afternoon we will visit the nearby annual Vashon Sheepdog Classic.

Meet at 9 AM at the trailhead parking lot, near the inteersection of SW 188th St and 107th Ave SW on Vashon Island, which can be reached from the north from the Vashon ferry dock and from the south from the Tahlequah ferry dock. No trailhead parking pass is required.
In the morning we will hike a loop route through forested Island Center Forest Park providing us opportunities to view abundant wildlife. Then we will have lunch at a picnic shelter at the trailhead, where a portapotty is nearby. After lunch we will drive to the nearby annual Sheepdog Classic, stopping enroute to see the bicycle embedded in a tree that grew around it. Admission to the Sheepdog Classic was $10 last year, plus a service change for internet orders. Tickets may not be available at the gate.
