8:00 AM at Tibbets Park n Ride

This hike gets over 4000 feet. Based on my hike to snow lake today, we are likely to have some snow and ice on the trail. Traction devices like crampons or Yak Trax are a great idea, along with your trekking poles. We are going to Mason Lake, no matter what, so be prepared. Tibbets park and ride: take I-90 east to exit 15 near Issaquah. Turn right, and head south. Pass a Burger king, and keep going. Turn left at the traffic light near the tower crane, then immediate right into the Tibbets parking lot. Weather is supposed to be great. Burn off some of that Turkey and hike to a beautiful lake. Sit pad is also a good idea. NW forest parking permit required per car. We will try to carpool from the park n ride. If you need a ride to Tibbets, sign up for a carpool on the Mountaineer website.
