Meet at Green Lake park and ride at 6:30 am for an early start to beat the weekday traffic out of town. From there we'll head out route 2 towards Leavenworth. I have a dark blue Honda Civic, and I'll leave my trunk open for people to find me.

This is a moderate hike because of the conditions in late fall. We'll head up to the summit, and then maybe continue along the Fourth of July trail a bit for a better view if the trail conditions are safe. While this is a day hike, pack your yaktraks (https://www.rei.com/product/760280/yaktrax-walkers-traction-system?CAWELAID=&cm_mmc=PLA_bng|404_47899||none|9dc1f9ba-092c-43a6-9d38-8eb4ce7d8cde|kwd-4585581963158361&gclid=) to make sure you have steady footing in case we find any small patches of ice. If the trail is snowed in, we'll turn around, so there is no need for snowshoes or crampons for any serious ice/snow. Please bring warm layers and rain gear as well as the 10 essentials. A thermos of warm soup or tea is also recommended. We'll want to get an early start on the hike to make sure we can finish before dark. Once we finish the hike, I'd like to rally everyone for a German late lunch/dinner in Leavenworth before heading back to Seattle. We can stay in Leavenworth for as long as people like and maybe even do a little Holiday/Christmas shopping if the group will allow. :)
