10:00 AM at Visitors Center
Join us for a fun filled day of sledding, snowshoeing and a snowman making contest! Please register each member of your family who will be joining us. If they are under 14 and don't have a membership number contact the clubhouse for help. Schedule for the day: 10:00 – Meet outside the Visitors center – We will have a sign or banner of some kind. 10:15- 11:30 – Play in the sledding areas. Sledding is permitted only in two small, designated snow play areas. For the safety of participants only soft plastic sleds and inner-tubes are permitted. Hard runner sleds and wooden toboggans are not allowed. Sleds are not available so bring your own for this activity. 11:30 – 12:15 – Lunch 12:15 -2:00 – Take a mini-hike to an area to build snowmen, animals, and whatever creative ideas we can come up with. Bring some fun things to decorate your snow creatures with (kool-aid gives you colored snow, carrots, old clothes, etc.). There may even be a prize of some kind for the most creative!! 1:45 – Head back to the Visitors Center for a hot coco and cider break (provided by your leaders). There is also a 90-minute Ranger guided snowshoe walk that leaves at 2:00. If your family wants to participate in this outing you will need to sign-up first thing when you arrive in the morning. This would be on your own and the park does request a $5 donation to cover snowshoes and the program. 2:30 to 4:00 – Free Play. Depending on how all the kids (and parents) are doing we can do some more sledding or head out for an adventure walk around the area. There are groomed trails around the Visitors Center that make travel with little ones reasonable. NOTE: We will have varying ages of children participating and we are a family group. You need to participate to whatever level works for you and your children. If you do need to leave early please let us know so we can account for the entire group at the end of the day. Thanks! Each car will need an Annual National Parks Pass ($50), Olympic Park Pass ($30), or a 7-day pass ($15).
