8:00 AM at Cascade Pass trailhead
Horseshoe Basin is aptly named as it is shaped like a great big horseshoe with multiple waterfalls cascading in from all sides. Lounge in the meadows and watch all the glacier fed waterfalls or bring a flashlight to explore the historic Black Warrior mine. NWFP, 18 mi, 4800' (3000' in, 1800' out). Steady, moderate pace.
