Buck Lake County Park Parking Lot at 0930

The park is located at 6959 NE Buck Lake Road in Hansville.

Directions from Bremerton:  Take Hwy 3 North to the Poulsbo/Bainbridge Island (Hwy 305) exit. Turn East on Hwy 305 to Hwy 307/Bond Rd stop light, turn left onto Hwy 307/Bond Rd. Travel on Bond Rd to Hansville Rd and continue on Hansville Rd about 8 miles until you see Buck Lake Road on your left (about a mile prior to (South of) Hansville) turn left onto Buck Lake Road and travel half a mile to the park entrance.

We will explore the native plant garden at Buck Lake County Park and then hike though the forest checking out trees and understory plants to Lower Hawks Pond where we will explore things marsh. We will move slowly using and learning to use field guides and any smart phone apps participants may have.  Bring any field guides (native plants / birds) you would like to use (trip leader will bring various).  Binoculars would also be useful.
