Meet at 10 AM Sunday at the trailhead parking lot in Griffiths-Priday State Park in Copalis Beach, WA.

This hike is part of the July 17-18 Ocean City State Park Car Camp, involving day hiking around Damon Point on Saturday, camping Saturday night at Ocean City State Park and day hiking at Griffiths-Priday State Park on Sunday.  Anyone registering for one of the day hikes must also register for the other one and participate in the Saturday night encampment. Compliance is monitored by requiring leader permission for the day hikes.

At the trailhead parking lot, either a Discover Pass or the camping receipt from Ocean City State Park must be displayed by each car.  Men's and women's restrooms are available there.

The hike begins hiking on a trail through  sand dunes with trees and bushes and then emerges onto the sand beach for the second mile to the tip of the sandspit, where we stop for a rest break before returning by the same route.  Bathroom breaks can be taken behind sand dunes at the turnaround spot.  After the hike, we will have the option for an outdoor hot lunch with table service in the back yard of the popular Green Lantern Tavern.  If the covid 19 danger has ended, we can eat indoors.

Complete information about the July 17-18 Ocean City State Park Car Camp can be found on the Tacoma Branch Events Calendar.
