Meet at 10 AM at the trailhead parking lot in Griffiths-Priday State Park, reached from Ocean City State Park by driving north on SR 115, continuing north on SR 109 and turning left in Copalis Beach at the Green Lantern Tavern.  The parking lot is on the right a short distance up the road.  A campground receipt or Discover Pass must be displayed by each car parked there.  There are restrooms at the trailhead.

Bathroom breaks can be taken behind sand dunes at the rest stop at the end of the spit.

This hike is part of the September 11-12 Ocean City State Park Car Camp, involving hiking around Damon Point on Saturday, camping Saturday night at Ocean City State Park and hiking Sunday at Griffiths-Priday State Park.  Registration for the car camp is by registering for both day hikes.  Anyone registering for one hike, must register for the other one and must participate in the Saturday night encampment at Ocean City State Park.  Compliance is monitored by requiring leader permission for both car camps.

Following Sunday's hike, we will have the option for a hot outdoor lunch in the back yard of the popular Green Lantern Tavern, which is near the trailhead parking lot for the Griffiths-Priday State Park hike.

See the Tacoma Branch calendar for a complete description of the car camp.
