  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,300 ft
7:30 AM at Junction of SR 410 & SR 165 in Buckley
This is a mentored hike with SuJ’n Chon assisting. Six of the ten miles of this hike are along the old Carbon River Road with not much elevation gain until we get to the Green Lake trailhead, 3 miles from the Park entrance. All 10 miles are in old growth. Option of an additional 1 mile round-trip side trip to Chenuis Falls if the Carbon River crossing is in and we’re all game.

We will hike together as a group and take a lunch break at the lake. This is a moderate paced hike and I intend it to be that way. If you are a very fast hiker or looking for big elevation gain, this is probably not the hike for you. Everyone needs to have the Ten Essentials.

A Mt Rainier Pass, National Park pass, or $15 day pass is needed for each vehicle parked at the trailhead. We will consolidate vehicles at the meetup point.

Where/When to Meet
7:30 AM at the junction of SR 410 & SR 165 in Buckley. There is a little parking lot (Google Map) along the Foothills Trail on the south side of the intersection. From there it is about an hour’s drive to the Carbon River Entrance.
