Day Hike - Grand Prospect

Warm the body and cool the holiday thoughts with a post-feast hill climb in the forest. This is a mentored hike for Michelle Peterson with Julie Cauthorn.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 8.4 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,028 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 3,095 ft
  • Pace: 1.75 approx. uphill, 2.25 approx. downhill

We will meet at the Rattlesnake Mountain Trail Parking Lot at 7:45 AM, ready to hike by 8AM. There is limited parking at this lot. You can park outside the gate or at the trailhead lot for Grand Prospect. A Discovery Pass is required for parking at Snoqualmie Point Park or at the trailhead. Parking on the road below does not require a Pass but often fills up.

This is a moderately strenuous hike- please check that you have done hikes with similar pace and elevation change recently. Please feel free to contact me with any questions regarding whether you should sign up for this hike or not.

This hike will go rain or shine, but we may change destination depending on weather/road/ trail conditions to another location around the I-90 corridor/ Issaquah Alps.

My goal is to soak up the calming presence of the trees, to reconnect with the natural beauty and bounty of the Pacific Northwest.
