Meet shortly before 9:30am on the Burke Gilman Trail where it joins the roadway at about 6700 Seaview Ave NW.  There's a boatyard on the water side of the street. Plenty of on street parking.

Yes, 272 stairs down will follow great views from a  Loyal Heights viewpoint on the bluff and, perhaps, a Golden Gardens sea level view to the Olympics.

We've done this many times and the views across the Sound, fair or damp, never fail to enchant these eyes.  And there's always something going on at the beach.  We may even spot the resident beavers.

We've done this many times over the past 5 years, often at night, sometimes with a walk back up the stairs (not for us this time). The blackberries were in full fruit last week when I walked with two of our (hungry) granddaughters.

We follow Covid precautions and relish the open air. For the curious, the walk was inspired by the Seattle Stairways  Walks outing #3 (Mountaineers Books, 2013).

Our urban walk is co-sponsored by  the Mountaineers Development Office, leader permission required.
