Day Hike - Gobblers Knob

A day hike to check out Gobblers Knob Lookout which was built in 1933. Depending on the weather, time of day, and group mood we may add the Lake George side-trip.

  • Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 10.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,100 ft
  • Pace: Avg pace >2mph

The goal is to be hiking by 7:45am.  Specific  instructions for meeting at the trailhead will be sent out once the activity closes.

Carpools are encouraged but not required. If you want to ride with me, we’ll meet at 5:50am, ready to depart at 6:00am, at the South Hill Park & Ride, 9th Street SW and  31st Avenue SW (formerly known as 94th Street SW and 104th Street East). This is the Park & Ride on the North side of Hwy 512. We’ll meet in the NW area of the lot, look for the red Ford Explorer.

This is a new area for me, so I recommend bringing along the 11th and 12th essentials of a sense of humor and a sense of adventure as we explore this area together. We may also stop for a quick, post-hike treat on our drive back.
