9:00 AM at Ebey's Landing Parking Lot
Here are the directions to Ebey's Landing: If coming from Seattle, you will need to catch the 8:00 a.m. ferry to Clinton from Mukilteo. From Seattle, take I-5 North to HWY 526 West. Follow HWY 526 until it intersects with HWY 525 and turn right. Follow HWY 525 to the Mukilteo ferry landing. After taking the ferry to Whidbey Island, continue on HWY 525 North, which eventually becomes HWY 20. As you pass through the town of Coupeville, take the first left after the pedestrian overpass; this is Ebey Road. Continue straight on Ebey Road. Do not take the curve to the left - go straight toward the water. As you near the water, the road will slope downward to the right. The parking area for Ebey's Landing is to the right of the road. Allow at least 45 minutes to get to the Mukilteo Ferry if you are coming from Seattle. Alternately, if you do not want to take the ferry, you could continue on I-5 North. Once you get past Mount Vernon, start looking for exit 230; this is the exit for Highway 20. You will need to take exit 230 and take a left at the stop light; you will then travel west on Highway 20 for approximately 11 miles. As you approach Anacortes, take a left at the sign for "Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, Deception Pass;" you will then travel south on Highway 20 for approximately 20 miles. Do not turn into Fort Ebey State Park; this is not where we are meeting. As you near the town of Coupeville, slow down. You will need to take a right on Ebey Road, which you will come to before you reach the pedestrian overpass (If you reach the pedestrian overpass, you have gone too far; you will need to turn around). Continue straight on Ebey Road. Do not take the curve to the left -- go straight toward the water. As you near the water, the road will slope downward to the right. The parking area for Ebey's Landing is to the right of the road. It takes approximately 2 hours to get to Ebey's Landing from Seattle using this route. If it is foggy or excessively windy on Saturday morning, it would be advisable to not take the ferry; use the alternate driving directions mentioned above so that you will not be delayed in getting to Ebey's Landing.
