7:30 AM at Shelton Walmart
We'll start our foraging with a hike up the Dosewallips river to identify and collect edible plants and berries. Low tide on Hood Canal is 12:16pm. We will depart the trail head in order to get to the beach by 12:30pm. We will shuck oysters on the beach and possibly collect clams(they are not as plentiful) and then turn our foraging into lunch. You will need a permit to collect shellfish. You can purchase a one day permit online https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/wdfw/oc_system/index.html or at any Dept of License You will also be asked to bring something to supplement the foraged foods (salad greens, rice, bread, etc.)
