Join the Tacoma Singles to experience the newest section of the Foothills Trail, following a former railroad grade from South Prairie to the White River near Buckley. We'll have a hot lunch at popular Wally's Drive-in in Buckley and complete the hike to the White River after lunch. This is a one-way hike with a car shuttle.

Meet at 9:30 AM at Wally's Drive-in, 282 WA-410, Buckley, WA  98321, reached from SR 167 by exiting east onto SR 410 and continuing to Buckley, where Wally's is at the north end of town on the right, by the last traffic light.   No parking pass is required.

We will leave half of our cars at a free parking lot near Wally's Drive-in and travel in the other cars from there to the South Prairie trailhead, where we will begin our one-way hike.  There are restrooms at both Wally's Drive-in and the South Prairie trailhead.  After having lunch at Wally's Drive-in, we will hike the short distance from there to the White River and back to where the cars are parked.  Then we will drive back to the South Prairie trailhead to drop off the occupants of the cars parked there to end the hike.  This is an opportunity to experience the history of a former railroad line, and the beautiful scenery along the route, and enjoy a newly constructed trail, with no repeat on the route except for the short distance from Wally's Drive-in to the White River.  Those arriving early at Wally's Drive-in have an opportunity to have breakfast there.  The hike will probably end before 2 PM.
