Day Hike - Excelsior Ridge (East High Divide Trail)

Enjoy a long flowerfield traverse with Mount Baker in full view on this 10 mile very strenuous hike with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain starting at the Welcome Pass trailhead and along Excelsior Ridge.

This hike starts out with a very brisk workout as you climb over 80 switchbacks through forest to Welcome Pass.  Pain is soon forgotten though, as wildflower meadows expand all around.  We'll attempt to hike all the way to Excelsior Peak if snow allows.  

Participants must be in very good condition with recent successful completion of strenuous hikes of at least 8 miles and 2500-3000' gain at a moderate or faster pace.
