Day Hike - Excelsior Peak

Long, strenuous trip with zillions of wildflowers. We will hike up to Excelsior Peak, then head east along High Divide to Easy Pass and descend the steep trail there, with a car shuttle back to our starting point.

  • High Point Elevation: 5,800 ft

7:00 am at the Horseshoe Bend trail head, at the east end of the town of Glacier, on the right immediately after SR 542 crosses the Nooksack River. This parking lot is across the street from the entrance to the Douglas Fir campground, where I will be staying in site #13 and #14.

Participants are invited to camp the night prior to this hike and/or the night after at my reserved campsites at the Douglas Fir campground. They are also invited to sign up for my Winchester hike the day before and/or my Hadley Peak scramble  the next day.
