This hike is part of the TACOMA BRANCH CENTENNIAL - IRISH CABIN celebration. This is one of several trips planned on August 4th to commemorate the 9 Irish Cabin Peaks in one day record of Leroy Ritche and Les Faseg back in 1953. See www.tacomamountaineers.org, centennial section for background story. We'll hike from Mowich Lake to Eunice Lake and up to the Tolmie Peak Lookout (where we will have lunch) and back, with picnic celebration at 4pm at Mowich. We'll stay together as a group, hiking at a somewhat moderate pace. If it's hot, yes you can swim in either or both lakes. If you haven't hiked with me before please get in touch with me (email or phone) to chat about your conditioning, gear, expectations for the day, your experience (hiking and with The Mountaineers) and about our mutual expectations for the day. Some of mine are that the journey is more important than the destination and, if we are going to make the effort to organize our gear, drive to the trailhead and hike up the trail we should spend as much time in the endeavor as possible. For the safety and enjoyment of everyone on the trip I need to know what the overall experience and preparedness (clothing, equipment, conditioning, courses taken) of everyone on the trip is. If you haven't hiked with me before you need to provide me with this information so that I can be sure that this is the right trip for you to go on.
