Meet at 9 AM at Wally's Drive-in, 282 WA-410, Buckley, located by the last traffic light at the north end of Buckley.

Wally's Drive-in, our meeting place, opens at 8 AM, has breakfast food to go and has restrooms.  We will caravan from there to the trailhead by heading north on SR 165, turning left at the stop sign to remain on SR 165, taking the right fork at the Y after crossing the bridge over the Carbon River and continuing on to the Park boundary, where we stop to use the restrooms and for those needing them to buy day passes to the Park.  Then we continue to the trailhead at the north end of Mowich Lake, where we park on the left side of the road.  Each car must display either a National Park Pass or the envelope stub that is the receipt for a day pass payment.

The hike begins along the left side of Mowich Lake and is mostly level for the  first mile, to Ipsut Pass, where we pause to take in the view of the Carbon Glacier.  Then we switchback down and back up the ridge on which sits  Eunice Lake, where the trail levels off as it passes the lake.  Then we switchback up to Tolmie Peak, passing by an alpine meadow sometimes displaying a spectacular array of bear grass.

After lunch, we return to Eunice Lake for a swim, weather permitting, and then continue on the same route back to the cars.

Following the hike we have the option for a refreshment stop at Wally's Drive-in, which indoor and outdoor seating and specializes in the Wallyberry milkshake.  All their food gets good reviews.
