Day Hike - Eunice Lake & Tolmie Peak Lookout

Join me for my annual evening hike to the Tolmie fire lookout. We will hike in and watch the sunset on Rainier and hike out in the dark. From Tolmie you will be able to see the lights of Tacoma and Seattle below.

We will meet at the Bonney Lake Park and Ride at 5pm:

We will consolidate vehicles there.  A higher clearance vehicle is preferred due to the condition of the road going into Mowich Lake.  Each vehicle that enters Mt. Rainier National Park will need a National Park Pass or America the Beautiful Pass

This will be an evening hike to one of the best fire lookouts Rainier has to offer.   Since we will be returning in the dark you will need to have a headlamp to hike with.  You may also want a handheld flashlight to spot ahead on the trail if needed.   Spare batteries are also highly recommended to have for either device.

For those of us that really like taking photos a small tripod will be needed to get photos of Rainier once the sun starts going down.  The moon phase should be at a new moon so star photos  with Rainier should be excellent if the weather fully cooperates.

This hike offers an opportunity to experience Rainier and Tolmie as few have.
