We will meet at Petrovitsky Park in Renton at 9:00am
Address: 16400 SE Petrovitsky Rd, Renton, WA 98058
No parking pass is needed to park and bathrooms should be available
A short car shuttle from the Park to the trailhead (about 1/2 mile away) is optional for those who feel comfortable sharing a ride and masked. There is only room for 4-5 cars at the tiny roadside pull-off.
Starting from the park, we will hike into McGarvey Park Open Space, past some wetlands and across a footbridge then climb up to Echo Mountain, where we will have our lunch, hot cocoa and cookies, and a nice view of Mount Rainier (if clear). Then we will travel down the mountain into Spring Lake Park and hike the "3 lakes loop" which include Spring Lake and Lake Desire. We will travel back through a ravine returning to Petrovitsky Park for a 7 mile hike.
Please bring the 10 essentials, dress in layers and plenty of water. Trail is likely to be muddy in places, so please wear waterproof hiking boots.
Please bring enough of your favorite Holiday Cookies to share with the group. They can be store bought or home-made, but please put individual cookies in separate zip lock bags. Bring your own hot chocolate or cider (or other beverage). Festive hiking attire is welcome.
