Leader's notes
The Hike: I can't say enough great things about Eagle Peak. Mt. Adams and St. Helens to the South and East for views. This lovely hike climbs steep through firs and hemlocks. The trail is in very good shape with very few rocks and roots. As you pop out of the trees at around three miles and 5000', you'll traverse a meadow with a few loose rocks then climb up to the saddle. The last few feet really feel like a scramble. We'll continue along the ridge for then best view and lunch.
***If it is rainy, cold 45 degree and the nice weather window diminishes that prevents our views, we will cancel this hike.
