This is the first of 3-day hikes in the Columbia River Gorge.  The trails are designed to showcase waterfalls and wildflowers.

Pace will be moderate, with plenty of time for taking in the scenery.

Here is the proposed route:  https://www.gaiagps.com/public/c3xWcqnpmjysumyF9br1UELh/

This trail, described as "one of the most spectacular trails in America", parallels Eagle Creek, with beautiful views of the valley.   We will pass Punchbowl Falls and Loowit Falls as well as several others as we walk through old growth forest and towering canyon walls to end at Tunnel Falls, where we will have lunch and then return to the trailhead.

Note:  There are some areas of exposure on this trail with steep drop-offs.

Participants are responsible for their own transportation and lodging, It is a 3-4 hr drive from the Seattle area.

Leader will be camping at Beacon Rock State Park (#15).   Currently there are many sites open.

My style:  I am adventurous, curious and love to be "awed" by Nature.  As a leader, I tend to the quieter side and my style is more relaxed.  While I love to hike, I am also willing to make space for picture-taking, flowers, critters, geology, culture and views along the way.   I value the journey as much as the destination and strive to foster hiking as a wholistic experience (body, soul, spirit).

Meet at the Eagle Creek Trailhead at 9am
