Dry Creek

Day Hike - Dry Creek

Join the Tacoma Singles Activities Committee on a low-elevation, 7.5-mile RT early spring hike in the Olympic National Forest starting along the shores of Lake Cushman. Elevation gain is 1000 ft; we'll stop for lunch where the trail meets Dry Creek. *Singles of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate, but any and all are welcome!

Meet at the Haggens grocery store in Olympia at 8:45am: 1313 Cooper Point Rd SW, Olympia, 98502.  We can use the restrooms in Haggens before leaving.

From there, we'll consolidate cars and caravan to the Dry Creek trailhead (about 1.5 hrs from the Park & Ride).  Since the restrooms at the trailhead may be closed, we'll stop at Big Creek Campground for a restroom break as we near the trailhead.

Drivers will need to display a NW Forest Pass at the trailhead.

There will be an optional post-hike meal stop at Kelsy's  All Natural in Shelton if folks are interested!

The trail starts out nice and easy, climbs steadily for a while, then levels out again for the last bit.  Muddy & wet sections on the trail are likely.   Gaiters, trekking poles, and extra socks could be helpful.
