Almost the whole six miles will be on unofficial trails.  There are spots that are a little rough and it’s possible that there could be snow/ice (please bring traction devices).  These are some nice trails to know about, it provides an alternative to driving up to the Ira Spring Trailhead, you’ll know the way if you ever want to go to Putrid Pete’s Peak, and you can find solitude along I-90.
