7:30 AM at I-5 & 65th St carpool lot, Seattle
July 1, Sat – July 3 or 4, Desolation Peak trip (S/E) (USGS Hozomeen), Ross Lake NRA. Desolation Pk is 9mi RT, 4,400’ gain, severe. Two or three night overnight canoe campout. Optional split-group alternative hike to Lightning Creek camp via East Bank Trail, 4 mi RT, 100’ gain, very easy. We canoe Ross Lk to Boundary Bay camp (1.5 hr canoe) and set up lakeside camp. Canoes, canoeing gear and dry bags provided free (2 people and their gear per canoe). I have 3 canoes, more watercrafts are welcome, to 12 persons max.
