From Obstruction Point, this will be a 9 mile total out and back along the amazing Grand Ridge trail. Reaching an altitude of 6600 feet, this trail is among the highest in the Olympics and one of the most scenic, with nonstop views of jagged glacier-covered peaks, deep valleys of unbroken old growth, and miles upon miles of wildflower-saturated meadows and tundra.

If you want to spend the weekend in the area, and you're a crazy day hiker, think about joining me the day before for an 18.6 mile hike around the 7 Lakes Basin and along the high divide.
