10:00 AM at Entrance to Sol Duc Resort office.
Meet at the entrance to the Sol Duc Resort office, Olympic National Park. For those willing to car camp, this hike can be combined with the backpack trip to Second Beach, April 29-May 1 and the day hike to Dungeness Spit (SVTC) on May 3. Separate signup is required for those trips and campsite reservations would need to be made for May 1 at Sol Duc Campground and May 2 at Dungeness Spit Campground. This hike was originally scheduled for Pyramid Peak, but a mudslide has created a hundred yards of exposure on the hiking route, so it is not advisable to do that hike until that section of the trail is improved.
