Day Hike - Deception Creek
A pleasant walk through a forest will take us to a roaring waterfall along the way. We will either stop at Fisher Creek or, if the group is so inclined and there is enough daylight, we will head up to the meadows of Tonga Ridge.

Pace will be moderate (2mph plus one hour for each thousand feet of elevation is a good rule of thumb). Be prepared for wintry conditions. Bring traction devices, poles, and gaiters. If we go to the meadows on Tonga Ridge, the distance will be roughly 13.5 miles and 3000 feet elevation (most of which comes in the last 2 miles); otherwise, we will go 11 miles with less than 2000 feet total elevation. Riders should bring cash to help offset the costs of driving. Plan on a stop at the Mountain View Diner in Gold Bar after the hike for food and socializing. Let me know if you have any questions.
