Day Hike - Death Valley National Park
Hike #6 Wild rose Peak 9 miles RT, 2,200 gain, plus Salt Creek Interpretive Walk 1 mile, flat. This outing is a series of 6 day-hikes in 6 days in Death Valley NP, California from 3/8/26-3/13/26. An additional juxtaposed trip will be offered in nearby southern Nevada and southern Utah 3/2-3/7/26. See Leader's Notes for the many details involved. This is a Leader's Permission Only outing.

Two hikes, one to a mountain top with views of large sections of the park--Wildrose Peak, 9 miles RT, 2,100' gain and one easy nature Interpretive Walk down on the valley floor- about 1 miles. There may be another roadside area we could explore this day as well.
Time: TBD--early to mid- morning
Wildrose Peak Trail----Location: From CA-190 follow Emigrant Canyon Road past the Wildrose Campground to the parking area at the Charcoal Kilns. The final 2 miles is a maintained gravel surface typically passable in a sedan. 25 ft vehicle limit.
Parking: 25 ft vehicle limit. Open gravel area.
Closest Restroom: Vault toilet in parking area. No restroom along the trail, follow
Salt Creek Interpretive Trail is about 14 miles north of Furnace Creek off of CA 190 on a side road to the west.
