Day Hike - Damon Point

Meet at 11:30 AM at the entrance booth to the Ocean City State Park campground, 148 WA-115, Hoquiam, WA  98550.

This hike is part of the September 26-27 Ocean City State Park Car Camp, consisting of day hiking on Damon Point on Saturday, camping Saturday night at Ocean City State Park and day hiking Griffiths-Priday State Park on Sunday.  Anyone registering for this hike must also register for the Griffiths-Priday State Park hike and join the Saturday night encampment at Ocean City State Park.  Registration for the car camp is by registering for the two day hikes.  Leader's permission is required to assure compliance.

If our reserved campsites are available when we arrive at the entrance booth, we will drive there, set up camp and have a picnic lunch.  If not. we will have lunch at the picnic area.  After lunch we will drive to Damon Point to start our loop hike around the sand spit.  After the hike we can stop at the Ocean Shores IGA to pick up supplies needed at camp.  Then we'll head back to camp, set up camp, if we have not already done so and prepare for dinner.   After dinner, we have the option to walk to the beach to watch the sunset.  In the evening we'll have smores around a campfire.

There are restrooms at the campground and there are portapotties at the trailhead, but not elsewhere along the hike.  During the hike, bathroom breaks can be taken behind logs.
