Day Hike - Coyote Wall

A great hike for views and wildflowers at this time of year! Group car camping is available.

  • Mileage: 7.7 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,200 ft
  • High Point Elevation: 1,250 ft

We will meet at the Coyote Wall Trailhead at 8:45 a.m.  and be ready to hike at 9:00 a.m.   The trailhead is east of Bingen, WA and between mileposts 69 & 70 on Highway 14.

We will do the Coyote Wall - Labyrinth Loop route, with views, waterfalls, and wildflowers.  This hike will not be lead at a fast pace.

I have a group campsite reserved at the Wyeth Campground for Friday and Saturday nights, for those able to make this hikes more than a day trip (see the  Hamilton Mountain hike the next day).   The campground  is off of Interstate 84 at Exit 51 (East of Cascade Locks) in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area.   The cost of the campsite (per night: $34 plus $5 per vehicle) will be shared by those who choose to camp there for either one or two nights.  All campgrounds in this area have some highway and train noise, so bring your earplugs for sleeping!
