Meet at Gas Station East of I-82 at the Selah exit #26. From there I will lead the cars to the trailhead, which is west of Yakima. Please arrange carpooling as desired to get to meeting place. Meeting time is 9:00 am. Leader has red Ford Edge with WSU plates.
I would say this hike is closer to 5 miles round trip, than 6, as described above. Should be some flowers, and there are birds, and nests on the canyon walls. I have seen otters in the creek in the past. We will cross 7 bridges, there is no wading required. If desired by the group, we can hike up a hillside on a trail to a winery; or hike up the opposite hillside, on a trail, for views. Interesting canyon walls, and rock outcroppings. No parking permit required--this is owned and managed by the Yakima conservancy.
