4:30 PM at Tibbits parking lot, I-90, exit 15, left on to Newport Way, then 1st right
A double-loop hike taking in the Licorice Fern Trail and the DeLeo Wall; about 6-7 miles but only 500 or so elevation gain. Join me in my continuing quest to hike all 36 miles of Cougar Mountain trail. Let's try to leave from the Tibbits parking lot promptly at 4:30. There is no club carpooling set up for after-hours hikes. We'll consolidate vehicles at Tibbits for the couple mile drive to the trailhead. We should be back to our cars right around sunset time, but bring a working headlamp and extra batteries just in case. And bring the rest of the Ten Essentials, including some extra clothes for the chilly evening hours. Pace will be moderate with stops to natigate a few of the 1,000,001 trail intersections on Cougar. Any issues with traffic, etc. on the day of the hike, call my cellphone at 206-954-1789.
