Meet at 9:30 AM at the boat launch parking lot for Coldwater Lake, reached by taking I-5 southbound, taking Exit 63 eastbound on SR 505 through Toledo, turning left at the T junction onto SR 504 and continuing to the turnoff to the left to Coldwater Lake at the base of a hill, just before crossing a bridge.  The entry road passes two parking lots.  We will meet at the second parking lot, where the boat launch is located.  There are nice men's and women's restrooms there, with hot air blowers and flush toilets.  A Northwest Forest Pass, or the equivalent, must be displayed by each car parked there.

From the boat launch parking lot, which has ample parking space, we will hike along the left side of Coldwater Lake for 4.5 mostly level miles to a sandy beach, where we have our lunch and a possible swim, if the weather permits.  There are restrooms along the trail at the one mile point, but not elsewhere on the hiking route.  There are bathroom break opportunities in a wooded area by the sandy beach where we have lunch, as well as some other secluded areas along the trail.
